Age Restrictions And ID Required For A Piercing AppointmentUpdated a month ago

Please find below some information on our piercing age restrictions and ID requirements:

  • We do not pierce anyone under the age of 10
  • We can only perform cartilage and nose piercings on people 16+
  • Anyone between 10-15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for piercings, and both the parent and child must bring a valid photo ID
  • Acceptable photo ID includes: Passport, Driver’s Licence or UK PASS card only. We do not accept photocopies, the original documents must be provided
  • If the parent/legal guardian and child have different surnames, a birth certificate must also be provided
  • Anyone 16 or over does not need to be accompanied by an adult, but must bring the relevant ID

I hope you can appreciate that these are non-negotiable terms of our council-approved licence, and as a responsible studio we reserve the right to reschedule or refuse appointments if these requirements are not met💫

We need to see everyone's ID, so please bring a valid form of ID with you for every piercing appointment! (We unfortunately don’t accept photocopies.)

Anyone ages 16-18 years old need to bring a valid ID (either a passport, UK PASS card scheme or driving licence) to get pierced without a parent. This is a legal requirement and is needed for insurance purposes.

If you are 10-15 years old, we can pierce your ear lobes with permission from a parent or legal guardian. They will have to provide ID for themselves and the minor. The adult will be required to fill in the consent form. In cases where the adult and minor share different last names, a birth/adoption certificate must be presented that matches the guardian’s name on their ID.

Don't have a Passport for approved identification? Not to fret. The Post Office UK PASS card is an affordable alternative for proving their age. Issued by CitizenCard, it’s £15 and accepted as official ID across the UK. Use your Post Office UK PASS card to prove they're under 16, over 16 or over 18.

How much is a UK PASS card?

There are two levels of cost for a UK PASS card:

  • A standard UK PASS card application costs £15 and normally takes no more than 3 weeks

  • An urgent application costs £30 and should take no more than 2 working days

More information regarding the UK Pass card can be found here: https://www.postoffice.co.uk/identity/pass-card
